Not a sika, I would lean toward red deer. Elk are usually a little lighter in color and most likely not as common on ranches as red deer.

looks like a cross of something to me. Strange color on legs and rear... and if it is an elk....kinda scrawny looking. Are you free range? or high fence. Probably a Texas Elk of some kind. Looks like the heat did a number on it. Still would be tasty.....>GOOD LUCK!!
