    can Of worms

You know I really like ted nugents beliefs on renewable resource and gun rights. He's a hunting advocate. I know his music well since I've been listening since jr high. But do you think he can really hunt? I. Mean pay your dues and put in the time and sometimes going home with nothing and still have a good time? Keith

Don't really understand the question, I know Ted is contravortial but he's been around and spent a lot of hours in the field. If it's an issue with the tv show, they are in the business of videoing a kill. Of course I am biased, I love uncle Ted and have Stranglehold set as my ring tone

I appears he LOVES to hunt. How much of it's an act only he knows and those around the campfire when the cameras are off.

I believe so. If he didn't love to hunt, he wouldn't have such a desire to want to protect the rights of hunters.

I love the nuge!! I walked in on uncle Ted at lone star music and archery in Waco and he was once again talking about gun laws. I shook his hand and he signed my axis LDP!!!

I have seen his show a few times. I like that everything he shoots(big or small)is a true thropy in his mind and soul. I get a kick out of his attitude. If it is an act, it's a good one.

I think your question is….He talks the talk….Can walk the walk?…….

I think he does both extremely well; and his words and actions both in the field, and on the stage, are a testament to that……..

I helped guide him on bowhunts near Jacksboro about 20 years ago. Also was around him for 2-3 years while I was the NRA South Texas Field Rep. I watched him refuse to pull back on a Scimitar Horn Onyx because a fence was 50 yards in the background. He said the animal was restricted in his ability to evade us so he wouldn't attempt to put an arrow in him. I believe he has sincere Fair Chase Beliefs. I also know that lots of things happen when you start trying to film a hunting show.

I also wish he would tone the rhetoric down some when he is being interviewed but I used to have to put up with lots of BS while being interviewed so understand where he is coming from. Love him or hate him, you know that the 2nd Amendment & Hunting is NOT going to be overlooked when the spotlight is on him.

Personally I am a NUGE fan!

Read one of his articles in a magazine years ago when he was on a elk hunt. Big time hunt for a big elk and when the elk finally came in after hunting hard for him he missed. Kept after him he and made the shot 2 days later on his trophy. Then the article thanked Gary Young and the ranch on Chalk Mountain. I've been on the ranch and have seen the elk, they come to the feeders every 2 days right at the ranch house. I guess I could have wrote an article about how I stalked to within 20 yrds.of the buffalo on the place in my 1/2ton gmc. Not saying he can't or doesn't hunt, but I frown upno calling a "killing" a hunt.

How can you not love Uncle Ted? I've met him a few times, just kinda "bumped" into him around the Waco area. He's a real down to earth guy, doesn't mind a stranger coming up and making converstation, unlike some of the other "celebrities" I've met before. He even gave me a few pointers on some things, and invited me to his ranch, which I was never able to make it. And you can't doubt his hunting skills. That man has killed more trophies in more places than most any of us ever will. I saw a show where he shot a deer at 95 yards with a colt .45 pistol. He's missed before, sure, that's called hunting. We all miss sometimes. He does special hunts for kids and disabled vets. He has a true passion for the sport we all love so much. A completely sober, drug, alcohol, tobacco free man who wants nothing more than to hunt, and spread the joy of hunting to others. He's fighting for gun owner's rights, and hunting rights. Whether you like him or not, he's great for the cause. He's one of my heroes.
