Am I the only one with small deer this year?

I think it's got a lot to do with the drought, but almost all the deer at our lease are less than impressing. Is it the same for everyone else?

The few bucks I have on mine are healthy, but the does are on the thin side. With this rain we've had, that has helped.

It seems that way to me too. But, we did have a 134" killed ( rifle )on our lease this past weekend.

I've seen 2 of the biggest bucks ever this year. I could only imagine tho if they woulda had decent food all summer.

Young bucks seem to be a little small for age, lots of basket racked 2 year olds. The old deer seem to be OK though. Goes back to body first, horns second. The younger guys are still growing so the horns are going to lack on them.

We've the biggest bucks we've ever had on camera all season long, we figured they were coming to the feeding holes just because there weren't any acorns or anything on the ground. So they were forced to come to where we were, since the rain in October we still see the bucks but not as constantly

We had a drought in KS also but I killed the biggest buck of my life. I think the mature deer, bucks and does, do better than the rest of the herd when range conditions are poor.

                              I'm having problems as well.
At the end of last season I watched 5 different 10 point bucks that had been in my area for quite a while, they did not venture to my side of the property line so I know the season ended with them alive. After seeing 7 different bucks this season, the biggest is an 8 point.
I decided last saturday if the big 8 gives me a chance I'll shoot him, but I sure wish I knew what happened to the big boys.
