Ive got to the point where my camo gets used very seldom unless im varmint hunting. This morning I had a group of ten does feeding in front of me. They got as close as fifteen yards at times and never seen me. I was sitting on my stool in the edge of a tree line eye level with the deer. I was wearing blue jeans, red tshirt, and tenny shoes. I know the red shirt stood out like a sore thumb. I kept waiting to get busted but never happened. These deer are very spooky to because of all the hunting pressure. I think as long as you got the wind in your favor and stay still your good to go. Whats your thoughts on camo?

Besides, up until about 20 years ago the "it" clothing of choice for most hunters was black and red plaid flannel. As we know, deer cannot see in the red spectrum very well so anything that breaks your outline up suitably is fine. And a lot cheaper in most cases.

Kind of a funny strory here. I have a buddy that wears Wranglers and a blue denim wrangler shirt and a cowboy hat every day. We were bow hunting and I dropped him off at one end of a food plot that already had deer in it. So there he is in his every day attire and two of the does walk up to within 5 yards of him. Guess like the one guy said they are not threatened unless you are in camo. I picked him up and he told me the story and I asked him why he didn't shoot one he said "I didn't know we could shoot does". LOL

I am giving plaid a chance again during rifle/rut season. After the rut its back in the trees and archery camo on.
I kill my pigs wearing normal clothes everytime. I know they have poor eyesight.
That being said. I use a rifle during the rut to better my chances. The buck that is the baddest and biggest has his own Secret Service/doe eyes watching everything.
