Drew my 1st choice elk and 2nd choice MD. Gonna pretty much be a resident come August. Up here Turkey hunting and scouting now. Good luck this season

Every year I get excited for NM draw and I end up drawing my easy Mulie tag and late season Aoudad, then I just set back and cry every time someone posts they drew their elk tag!!! Only positive is I didn’t screw up and draw a sept mulie tag like last year so I don’t have to cry every time I call in an elk screwing around. Sad things is think I called in 6 bulls last year, with only a Mulie tag in my pocket, and in ten days only saw three mature mule deer..lol

Atleast 0/10 years on NM draw elk tags. Off to the LO voucher search I go...

Yep, nothing, nada, zip, zilch, I miss being a resident and being able to draw, sound old now.

I’ve been blanked in every state so far. I went pp only in NV (everything) and CO (elk)this year. Only draws left are CO sheep and muledeer. I should be all but guaranteed the mule deer tag...at least based on past data.

On a positive note, NM now owes me $5,500.

Yes I called in 6 bulls screwing around while archery mule deer hunting last year.

You are in for a treat. I can give you several spots to try. It’s a very accessible unit, minus the burn behind lookout and ski resort. I found elk all of the unit high and low
