I put in for my OIL animals.. Waiting just in case I score an AZ Elk tag before I put in for the rest.. I'm pretty close to my CO mulie and antelope tags..

Just 100x thicker than Colorado.

CO has its nasty thicket too. You most of hunted Northern Idaho, it takes the cake for dense thick nasty, but central and southern aren’t bad.

Speaking of boots, what is everyone wearing. I’m looking at some Kenetreks, but curious what everyone else has.

Kenetrek mountain extreme guy here. I like a stiff boot with solid ankle support. These fill that need nicely and are super warm

Ya.. Lizard Head has gotten smashed ever since that Eastman's article

Hunted there 2nd rifle in 2016 and elk were pretty sparse. Lots of stories from hunters around the unit about how good it used to be. Guys getting an elk every year, etc.. There were hardly any elk sightings at all when we were there and we talked to quite a few folks. We don't plan on going back any time soon.

No hit on the card for me from AZ...guess my 0.8% chance of drawing didn't come through. May have to do a late deer hunt though, use that hunting license for something.
