36 hours till I head west!
The reports I am getting is that it is pretty slow right now. That's good news for folks like me that like to wait and hunt the last 10 days!

I heard the same thing, not much going on. So the last 5 days of the season should be the best. As usual.

It was dead in Idaho, little raghorn bulls with cows. Big boys where still hiding out. Saw lots of elk but wolves decimated calf crop, out of 60+-elk I glassed up zero calves. Sailed an arrow high over a big blackie

Good friend is hunting 1B in AZ, said they just started talking today.

Right behind you. Craig has an Elk tag and I'm going to try my luck at a Bear this year.

I'm outta here on Saturday also.........getting real now. Today was the first day I could walk decent since my mountain goat hunt last week in Alaska. Gotta do final tuning in earnest tomorrow.

Spent 5 days last week in southern Colorado (OTC unit). Was my 7th trip to the area. I generally don't have any issues finding elk, but only saw 7 while covering 59 miles of steep nasty timber. Friday the muzzleloader hunters moved in with horse trailers at every pullout and trail head so I cut my losses and headed home. Should start picking up for those of you who get to hunt later this month.
