Does the email function work?

If you open someones profile and click on "send them an email" does it actually work? I'm trying to reach Mary about an order

I received two emails today from people on the site. They used the email function on the site to email me. Not saying it works all the time, but it did in my case.

Thanks - I hadn't used the email link from this site before and wanted to make sure it wasn't just floating around out there in cyberspace somewhere
