Committed the cardinal sin against a hunting buddy

Wednesday night, I invited a friend from church to go hunting with me this morning. He was to be at my house at 5:00, so we could make the 30 minute drive to the front gate of the ranch and be in the treestand set up by 6:00.

Well, I woke up at 5:40. I had my alarm set on my watch. However, it was cold this morning, so we had the heavy comforter over us. I guess it muffled the alarm enough that it didn't wake up me or my wife. Being upstairs, we never heard the doorbell or my phone ringing, because it was charging downstairs. After several apologies, we've made plans to go this afternoon. Hopefully, he'll get a good buck, then everything will be fine.

I'll never live this one down.

Oh, we'll laugh, but it will be at my expense.

I have slept in before instead of going by myself, but this is the first time that I have done it when someone else was counting on me.

I could strap a watch to my ear-drum and still not wake up to a watch alarm .

Hopefully this evening's hunt will be great and make up for it

Good thing you're Church buddies. This one is going to take a lot of forgiving on his part.

HA HA! I've been that guy. Back in high school a friend that had a good spot on Lake Sommerville was going to take me along with a few other guys. He tried calling me and I never heard that or my alarm, so he then came by the house (2 houses from his). Tried knocking, but that didn't work. Luckily we didn't lock the side door that night and he came in and woke me up. I had to hear about that one for a while. I'm pretty sure I got up and ready in about 3 minutes to make up time
