Doing it with the academy 15' single stand every hunt. Gets easier each time and no harder than strapping my old climber on the tree.

Use a rope over a limb and a 4 wheeler. Do the same when taking it down. I have a plate and 7 screws in my ankle from the end of this past June for taking one down and NOT following my own advice.

It does have a stability bar that goes from the middle ladder peice to the tree so that should help as well. Hopefully with the bar, the stakes in the ground and another ratchet strap I should be good.

Thanks for all the input guys.

I was thinking that you do that for a living.

Cool. Just don't shortcut yourself on the safety in order to get it done. You might do it 10 times w/o incident... I know I just don't bounce like I used to!

I am sorry to hear about your accident and I am definitely going to error on the side of caution in getting this thing set up. My cell phone coverage where this stand will be placed is minimal at best so not being able to contact someone and not being able to walk out on my own would be a bad situation.

So I'm assuming you use the 4-wheeler and rope to hold the stand in place while you climb up to secure it......is that correct?

                    Thanks.

I stand the stand up against the tree at a slight angle just like a ladder climb halfway up put a ratchet strap on it loose. Climb back down and and move the stand into position. Climb back up and tighten the ratchet strap. Then your safe to go on up and secure the top portion. Its not hard at all just dont get stupid and pay attention to what your doing...
