I've got a guy on my rig who's buddy is selling a Thompson Omega .50 cal muzzle loader. I've been itching to buy one and start hunting around the house with it. It doesn't really extend our Tx season but it opens up possibilities in other states. Anyways the guy wants $350 for the gun and a Simmons Atec scope (which I'll probably change out). I don't know ANYTHING about them! What should I look for when I check the gun out to makesure it hasn't been abused? Also is this a fair price? I'm not really looking for a steal, just an honest buy. Any help y'all have will be appreciated!

If you dont want to lay a lot of cash out on one, it MAY be an ok deal. Personally I would get a T/C pro hunter, then you can make it into any gun you want. I have one in 25/06 and it is one of my favorite rifles, just feels good in your hands. 1 gun turns into a centerfire, shotgun or BPComment
