I am in Fannin Co and got my plots planted on Oct 8th. Luckily we started getting so rain afterwards. Its still dry out there, but its better than it could be. I didnt have time or equipment to do it myself, so I hired it out. Basically he just tried to plow as best as he could and then seeded. If it works well this season, I'll get more serious about it in the future.

Plot 3:

Plots 1 and 2 are looking pretty good. Plot 3 needed MUCH more mowing but I didnt realize it. Ground is hard clay and was SUPER dry so it wasnt easy to get it broken up.
I planted:
Buck Forage Oats
Rye
Arrowleaf Clover
In total, it was about 6 acres.

The creek finally has some water in it also
