    Worried

Before bow season I set up a stand on a pool with a little open area around it because of the drought. I have pics of some real good bucks here in the area but haven't had very many pics at all lately. Do you think I should hang a stand somewhere else and leave this one or what? I have not seen a deer all season out of here and I usually hunt 3 hunts a week here or more. My brothers stand is 3-400 yds from me in oak trees and sees deer all the time? What say you guys? I know this is a dumb thought and I need to just stick it out but I'm worried.

3 hunts a week or more is far too much pressure in my opinion. The deer have probably patterned you

Move to a food source or to where you are seeing does. The bucks may not be eatting alot but the does will be and if you have does the bucks should be close by. Just my thought.

I would have already moved it.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's burned out. I've only hunted on weekends so far, and I alternate between three different stands. I usually don't even hunt the same stand in the evening that I hunted that morning.

Find the main trail that cuts that way and then follow it back until it intersects with another one that is being used. Set up a little ways off of that intersection.

Also, acorns are falling heavy right now which might be why your brother is seeing lots of deer in the oaks and you are seeing nothing.

3 hunts as in 3 sits not 3 days. Most of the time its not consecutive hunts. I have only hunted this stand probably 3 sits in the past 3 1/2 weeks. I'm thinking another reason is we are getting some rain now so they don't have to hit this as hard but I keep food for them here still.

Deer activity as a whole at our place has slowed dramatically since the acorns stated falling... This full moon isn't helping either.Once the acorns play out things should pick up.

I don't think it's too much to hunt a stand in general but they may have patterned you if your approach is in the open or through a bedding ground.

The stand in the oaks was most likely benefitting from the acorn crop.

If you have more water sources now, hunting over a single pool will lose a lot of it's effectiveness if you don't introduce a regular food source, like a feeder

                          Good luck

We all know that deer movement is slower up in these parts and I dont know why Im worried Ive hunted this same place for 5 years now and usually dont really start seeing them until mid to late november. I hand throw the feed normally on mondays and thursdays or whenever they eat it all. I have been working a lot lately so I havent been able to feed as often as I like.

I actually checked my cam this morning when I got out of the stand and have a pic of the big buck Im after at 530 pm on the 10th, but I took my fiance hunting at another stand that day because I want her to kill a deer with her bow. Its worth more to me to get her one instead of me killing one. I told her I was pi**** at her because she made me miss my opportunity, but I let her know that I was joking that I wanted her to kill one. Im not so worried just irritated.
