Need Customization Work on 2008 Polaris Ranger 700 XP

I live in the Houston area and I need some windshield customization done to my Polaris Ranger. I currently have a jeep windshield (glass) as a windshield on my Ranger and it is causing some dust issues within the cab. I would like to either cut an air vent (with an option to have it open or closed) in that flat jeep glass or replace it with a plexiglass windshield that is vented with an option to open or close it.

Fyi - I tried a rear windshield to solve the dust issue, but it didnt work too well. Plus, its hot in the cab during the summer and i would rather have the option to vent my winshield.

I have pictures if needed. Thanks.

Polaris makes a fold up windshield, I have it on mine. Still doesnt change the dust situation.

It sucks but the only way to keep the cab mostly dust free is with no front windshield.

it can be a nasty vehicle if you have allergies...got sick as a dog last week..I need to get in the habit of wearing a dust mask...let us know if you figure it out.. surprised they havent developed a tire that helps with the dirt and dust problem

I would rather be cold than eat that much dust.

I sold my windshield. Would never mess with another windshield of any variety on mine.

Plus, it really does not get that cold in Texas.

Its funny that you say that. A friend of mine has a Terex and with factory tires it was pretty much dust free with a windshield. His tires wore out so he put a set of factory Polaris tires on and now has a dust problem in the cab. As odd as it may seem, the Polaris tires may be a big factor in the dust issue.

Possible solution: replace everything around that windshield with parts from Jeep

Not much help, but I couldn't resist...

I think it is an issue with any open moving vehicle. The other week I spent time in my Jeep and in a UTV, both got dust in them when only a front windshield was used. Think about it, you get the same effect in the bed of a pickup truck, air circulates back towards the cab.

Pics of Ranger that needs Help

Here is what mine looks like... Sounds like we are all experiencing the same issue. Drives me crazy and my allergies even crazier. I may get rid of the windshield, but I love the look... Hopefully someone will come up with something creative.

I am starting to think my only option may be to remove it, but as you can tell by the pictures that is easier said than done.

Rene', I sent the pictures to you. Thanks for sharing your idea!

I don't have an answer, but man that is one SWEET looking Ranger.

About how much would you say you have tied up in that unit?

The previous owner had all this done to it. He had a buddy that did most of the work, but it was between 2 to 3K.

What about a 1/2 or 3/4 windshield??? I was fixing to build me one just to get out of the wind while driving in the winter...
