Snake prank gone wrong!!

Okay we were driving to feed our horses when we saw a snake who was about 4 1/2 feet long on the road. I HATE snakes so it was already in my mind that I was gonna kill him. I ran him over a couple of times and another car ran him over as well. The other car was going probably 55 mph. I went to feed the horses and came back around an hour later to find the snake dead on the side of the road.

I thought it would be funny to pull a prank on my sister in law who lives only a few houses down from me. I placed the (dead) snake in her driveway next to her car hoping for a phone call the next morning telling me all about it.

However when I drove by her house the snake was gone and I never received any phone calls.

Is it possible that the snake wasnt dead? He was pretty banged up and was even split open on his side!

What do you guys think? Also, any similar stories would be nice!

yep prob a critter getter. However I've cut the head off a rattler late at night and had them still moving like they're trying to crawl off the next morning. If it still had a head I could see it making it at least out of sight...but you'd prob know when you picked it up if it had that much left in it.

Yes it's still alive. They will usually seek refuge in a control environment (read inside sisters house).

We killed a chicken snake one time by using a stick to squash its head and stuck it in the cab or the tractor to take back to scare a guy. I was driving back when I felt something hit my boot. I look down and see that thing slithering around my boot. I nearly jumped out the side of the tractor

Not sure if it was a critter. We dont live out in the country and I havent heard her complain of anything..

Cats, dogs, owls, possums, coons.....could be anything, even in town.
