I have heard wild hogs referred to as "poor man's grizzly", I think that boar fits the definition

Turn the dogs loose on it that would be a site to see.. You might be getting the pigs out of the tree tops. I would use a big bore on him, like a 375 or 416 comes to mind.

man what a hoss, I recommend that if you shoot him , shoot him again and again just to be sure .. I went hog hunting the other day and hit 4 good size hogs , 2 of them went down then got back up and fled.. the last one went down and I just put two more rounds in him for good measure.. I was shooting an ar15 in .223( all at night with Night vision) ...the last round from under went right into the vitals from below.. DIT!

that big boy you're after will probably need more than one round to keep him down .. just send a couple extras!!

Try not shooting them in the vitals area. We've shot pigs up to 300lbs, that have dropped in there tracks, with a .223 behind the ear in the neck. Right where the spine meets the skull, have Never had one take another step, DRT.
