That's a hoss!

Had the fortune of meeting Josh Hamilton in Southlake waiting in line to see Santa last Christmas. We were standing around waiting on pics and I told him I'd seen his pics from shooting at CCR and a good buck he'd shot a few weeks prior. We briefly chatted about hunting, and he said he was about to go on a hunt with his wife and kids. Apparently she had taken a nice buck on the same hunt he was on. It was a low impact chat...I didn't ask for an autograph and got a quick pic of the fiance and kid with him.

I don't care what anyone wants to spout about the deer posted above or what it must have cost to shoot it. Bottom line, he's a good guy and involves his entire family in hunting. He probably lurks here, and I'd hate to think his impression of TBH would be based on the negativity that surrounds threads like this. Deer of a lifetime for most.

i can't believe the jeans comment. i hunt during october in shorts a lot. i just put a mesh leaf suit on. who cares what he was wearing. great deer and a great guy

If you don't take the picture in the clothes you were wearing at the time of he shot then you lose all credit. lol I mean it's highly unlikely he may have made a not so great shot, decided to let the deer lay, went back to camp, changed out of his hunting clothes and then went looking for the deer. If he did do it in jeans, maybe we're the crazy ones who think all this fancy camo works!

I for one dont think it has an ear tag... but if it does... who cares? its still a deer with wild instincts - doesnt mean you can walk up and smack it in the head with a hammer to kill it. Heck, how many cows on your deer lease have tags in their ears, that are used to people, trailers, sale barns... but you cant get within 50 feet of them because they are so wild... but they are domestic. Tag, no tag, HF, LF I dont care - unless its got a collar with a chain attached to a tree, any deer with a bow is a trophy.

Hunting can be a luck sport as i hope some of us know. I know some guys who have arrowed and shot some nice deer in street clothes. Most were also in full rutt and when you have that smell on the brain you do stupid stuff! Nice deer!

i think all yall thinkin he "bought this deer need to remember something...hes a big name star, with a big deer with a bow laid across him...cant do nothin but good for us...so what if he loses some of the "peta" fans out there...we win here!!
