Need some advise on how to hunt deer making scrapes.

Had a very nice buck come in tonight and stayed in the tree line behind my feeder. He made several scrapes and tore a bunch of trees up. There was another smaller buck in there at the same time doing the same thing but they never messed with each other. Even had a mature doe come in and the big deer never chased her but the small buck did. He didn't have any interest in coming to the feeder.
I guess my question is do they go through and mark an area before they get heavy into the rut and will they continue to check their scrapes? Was thinking bout setting up to try to catch him checking them out. I have no experience hunting a deer like this so any tips would be appreciated. (sorry for the long read)

scout it to find a trail or an area you think he is using to move in to your feeder area. then hang a game cam to confirm his movement pattern. hand corn that area and hang a stand off the trail

Yes they will run same scrape line. Unfortunately most scrape activity is after dark. But he may show again. Move a stand over there and find out!

Patience ! If u want to hunt a certain buck set up on his trail to a scrape not on the scrape and stay in the stand as much as u can. Found mature deer will check them from down wind more than at the scrape.
I shot my biggest buck this way.
