    Big trout time

For you die hard's the trout are already making the transition to scattered shell and mud on the upper coast. Should be a good year with higher than normal salinities up here this year. Gonna be out and about along my favorite shoreline this upcoming week armed with tops, corkies and catch 2000's trying to break my personal best.

Really? Guess no one told the fish in there right now. Good friend has been hitting some quality fish over mud for the last week. On went 28-1/2". I started on them mid november last year and stayed with them thru February.

I'm right there with you. Going to get real mad at them in a few weeks. I feel like down here early December starts the bigger fish bite. I normally don't throw the Catch 2000s but this year I am going to be concentrating on chunking them and the corky. Good luck and keep us posted on those toad upper/middle coast fish.

it is time, even the males are chunky! i'm ready, we'll be out on a shoreline this weekend.

WARNING! winter time trophy trout fishing is not for the faint of heart, those that dislike standing in 40 degree water @ sunrise in knee deep mud over shell fishing so slow you can watch grass grow, or generally lack the fortitude to do so.
