    squirrel help please

I have a 5 gallon feeder that hangs from a tree. The little devils have helped themselves to all my corn in less than 3 days. Would it be okay to put some rat poison on top of the lid. The jump on the feeder and make it wave and the corn will fall out and they get down and eat the corn. Do you have any ideas other than setting there with a gun?

No poison please. Will probably be bad for the predators that eventually eat the poisoned carcases. Big multiple catch rat trap baited with peanuts will probably catch a few. Use them for target practice out of the hunting area later.

probably illegal. Varmint guard and bigger feeder are my recommendations

Monkey Chow and a gut shot from a blow gun should show them

Only thing I can think of is to bouid a small tripod for it and brace the bucket to the legs so they can't shake it.

But, that would gove the deer and hogs an oppertunity to flip it

I bought a pellet pistol today. Those suckers are big as my weenie dog. I intend to give them plenty of heck. The sticky traps are a great idea also. Thanks, Oakenhawk.

Had the same thing happen to me once. I was wondering how the corn was being drained until i experienced them jumping from one side to the other and swaying the bucket to drop corn. Also, if your spinner is plastic they will chew it down to a nub and the corn will flow out. swap out with a metal one if it is plastic.

I bet a little razor wire on that lid would make them think twice about jumping on it.
