I'm right there with you. Shot under a buck last weekend. Shot felt good and I had him ranged good, but shot under his belly(clean miss). Went back to camp to check sights on bow(all good). While sitting stand Saturday morning I noticed my Drop away rest was dropping very slow. Back at camp it worked normal after warming up a little. At 13 degrees it just wont drop quick enough. I feel terrible for the shot but thankful for the clean miss.

TXTIDER, yeah, I blew my blessing earlier this year too. It's required to become better. I wanted to throw my bow at him as he trotted off. Man, I was hot. A few weeks later another came in, but I didn't get a shot. However, I knew I would not make the same earlier mistake (but maybe another

Welcome to the crowd. It happens.

        Good Luck!

Exact thing happened to me. I have never missed a deer in the 8 seasons I have been bowhunting. The first thing my Dad said to me when I told him was, "You dont miss".

Big dent in my ego. That is for sure. I definatly feel your pain.

Hate to hear that, give him some time he'll be back. A miss is better than a bad hit.... Good luck man

I happened to me earlier this year as well. It was my first miss in my 6 years of bowhunting also. I had a pile of white hair on the ground where it shaved the doe's chest but no meat or blood on the arrow or anywhere on the ground. The arrow had shaved her and hit under her before she knew what happened. If she would have dropped a little it would have been a good hit. Luckily I was able to take another doe the following day to get that monkey off my back!
