    Flashlight/bow light help..

I don't have the money to buy a bow stab light so I had an idea of just rigging a small flashlight to my stab n then wiring a light on button to the riser.. however I found this light at academy for 21.99 n it says 12 LED flashlight. Just how bright is that? Thanks for the help

It says 8 white LED, 2 blue or red LED, of course I'd use the red or blue, so just how bright would that be

There is one in the DIY section. On led lights look for the "lumens", the more the lumens the brighter the light.

Don't do it, it will be a waste of money because it will not shine far enough. Try to find you a light that uses a single high power Led that puts out at least 100 lumen. Be careful though when looking at just lumens because a lot of companies only state what the led in the light is capable of, not what the flashlight actually puts out. For example, the packaging might say manufacture rating is 160 lumens but in reality the light itself may only put out 80 lumens but they wont tell you that. Then you have companies that flat out lie about the amount of lumens to make their lights look better than they are. There have been some good threads about good cheap flashlights on here, do a search and you should be able to find them. You can get a decent flashlight cheap from China but it will take a while to get it and it may have problems because those lights are put together by the cheapest labor they can find. Then again it may never have a problem. If you find another flashlight that looks like it would work for you, you can send me a PM and I will tell if it would work for you are not. I know a lot about Led flashlights so I will more than likely know if it will work for you or not.

I use a Marauder light. The green light works best!! I have used the white light and even the Red light and both would spook the pigs as soon as i put the light on them.I have created my own flashlight using the small Black Max flashlight to the Hog Light to the Marauder light. The Marauder is around $100 but it is worth it in the long run if you plan on hunting hogs at night.

I agree. I purchased this exact same light a few weeks ago and the colored lights aren't bright enough, nor the white light actually. My feeder is 25 yards from blind and the colored lights weren't enough to light the feeder up.

BTW, I never did find the exact lumens on that light. I thought I saw 100 somewhere but don't think that is the case.
