What direction do you point camera?

    Always North

    The sun rides too low in the Southern sky in the winter to face the camera South, unless you are in big timber……

          I pointed mine west once. The LCD screen was ruined and the last pick said 130 degrees.

          Now North, South or East...but always towards the feeder!

            Point mine NE unless I have trees blocking morning or evening sun then Ile point them E or W. But always towards the feed source or water source.

                I think you have this backwards.... Facing them south puts the LCD and lens in the midday sun during the fall/ winter. Facing them north put the back of the camera in the sun...

                For the OP, to cut down on glare face camera north. The sun travels in the lower southern sky east to west during the fall and winter months.
