    Ground blind or Tree stand?

Ive always hunted out of ladder stands. im a big guy, weight about 250. ive never been comfortable up in a tree in any stand. I dont like heights. today i was in my ladder stand and the wind blew the tree alittle bit, its a large tree, and first i thought i was gonna hurl, then i thought i was gonna fall out. i have started bowhunting out of a ground blind at the same set up and i really like it. i can stay longer, more comfortable and in inclimate weather. i set the ground blind up for a north wind and hunt the ladder stand for a south wind, same setup. im thinking im gonna get me some more ground blinds and brush em in real good. how bout everyone else?

Never been a ground blind guy myself. I just love being up a tree. Being up 15 to 20 feet sure gives you a vantage point and you get to see more things happen. I do a lot of glassing, and I see things way before they get close to my stand. I like that. being on the ground limits things for me. I think what I like most is the scent control you get when up 15 to 20ft. I have shot game on the ground in a blind but have been busted a lot more times by them winding me. Some do really well out of blinds but I love being up a tree myself. I starting using the Millenium M-100 tree stands this year and they are like sitting up there in a nice lawn chair--amazingly comfortable. You can sit in them for many hours--no problem.

i like bein up high but I have a tendency to forget i'm up high and i've made a couple of bad shots on some pigs. I like ground blind setups better myself.

Ground blinds can be real productive, but you have to brush them in. A lot of brush.

I love the trees. I like to be able to see whats going on. I have some ground blinds and I do hunt them in bad weather.

i prefer to be elevated. I also think more bad shots(high and back) happen on shots fro ground blinds. Nothing scientific, just a personal thought.

I like the openness of being in a tree but it's hard to beat the comfort of being in a ground blind.

All our setups have both ground blinds and elevated stands.

Rather hunt out of a tree! Can see more and better shooting options usually. And I hate shooting from a groundblind. It throws my distance perception off for some reason. But if you feel more comfortable then thats what you should do!

I love the comfort of a ground blind. It along with a no-name Ozone machine alows me to hunt most any wind with proper stand placement. I hunt from a wooden box with no floor made similar to a pop up.

I can set as long as I want; water, snacks etc...

My only issue is I get busted leaving the blind by deer that seem to hang around the feeder area at various times of the day. I'm in a classic "pinch point with a small opening behind me that leads to a narrow pipe line right away.

I'm going to reposition my blind next year and cut a path to give me a more secluded exit route.

I love being high up but ground blinds are nice when my back hurts and I need a good chair to sit in.

I like both, but unless the weather is bad, I'm going to be in a tree. Just a personal preference.

I've had better luck in a tree. I think your less noticed by the deer and scent is higher. Yet depending on wind being 16 foot up I've still been busted!! The tree is here I have recorded all my bow kills. The ground blind kill will come some day, because I hunt both depending on wind direction and wind speed.
I like how I can hunt bad weather from the ground and it's much more thrilling when a good buck walks 15 yards away and your eye to eye!!!!
I don't think you can go wrong either way as long as your in the deer woods!!! Good luck!!
My new ground blind setup for bow or rifle,,,,,

I too have always hunted out of treestands and this year made the switch to a ground blind! I'm loving it so far! Went with the Primos Ground Max Escape Deluxe. It's huge!
