Shot one when I was younger. It wasn't mine and I don't know how abused it was but it was a beast to pump and jammed often. My goto pump is a Winchester 120 ranger. That being said I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Mossberg if I needed a pump gun.

Seen a few fail in the field (pump and auto), and My f-i-l had his finger blew off by one after it fired a shell out the bottom loading port when he pumped, and the ones I've held are built with the tolerances of a barbed wire fence.

But if you like em, thats awesome

I don't hate them, but they're just cheap, low quality guns.

My 4x4 in 30.06 knocks down whatever I shoot at. Don't really care what anyone else thinks about them.. the animals in the scope know the truth.

dont hate them just dont care for them, my buddies 500 jammed after every shot this dove season while my tried an true 870 ate everything i fed it. i also prefer rem 700's in rifles, but do have a couple savages and they are a good actions as well

I bought a 4x4 laminate in 25-06 for my FIL. Is as accurate as a Remington ADL or Weatherby Vanguard out of the box. I personally have had two of their auto shotguns and will NEVER owm another. They both jammed every time i shot them no matter what kind of shells i used. I just think most of the time they are known as cheap guns.

I must have missed all the Mossberg hating threads.

no experience with their rifles but they make great shotguns.

My first gun was a 500, 20ga. I bought it when I was 18 from Montgomery Wards. I killed a bunch of birds with that gun. I don't know why, but it would occasionally drop a around out the bottom. I have a Remington 870 that isn't any better gun. After years of frustration, I bit the bullet, pun intended, and bought a Benelli.

Thats what happened when one blew off my FIL pinky finger They obviously had enough issue that they had a lawyer that only dealt with that issue.

i dont hate them i just think they are cheap low grade shotguns that have a tendency to jam often. i prefer my winchester super x 2 to any shotgun.

Had a few buddies buy the 835 (I think, 3.5" pump) and they wanted me to buy one back when I was big into duck hunting. I did not have the money at the time but they all bought them and had nothing but trouble.
We were hunting one morning and big group of ducks came in and we laid into them, one of the guys shooting a 835 only got one shot before his jammed. When the shooting was done he was cussing it and raqred back and threw it out into about 3' ofwater in front of the blind. After about 5 min I asked if he was going to leave it there and he went out and retrieved it. They all took them back and got their money back and bought different guns. I think it was an extractor issue, they had a dowel rod they carried to knock the empty hulls out of the chamber when they jammed.
I will stick with my Benelli and 870, would not give you a plug nickel for a Mossberg shotgun

Wanna sell that 120 ranger? I have one and love it. It is my favorite shotgun.

As for mossbergs, I call them throw away guns. Its what you use when you're runnin from the law every one I've looked at was loose and felt cheap. I had 2 friends that owned them. One jammed all the time and the other one blew up. I don't hate them but if you shoot one please don't stand too close to me
