Well, the assumption being made here is that it is a fossil. My assumption is that it is more recent since he said he thought it was a tooth. For the OP, is it smooth and light like a bone or tooth or does it seem more like rock (fossil) and dense? The nature of the geologic deposits won't make a bit of difference if it's a later species.

I haven't seen coral look like that but then I'm not a geologist. For all I know it could be a baculum (an alligator or turtle maybe) penis bone. Doesn't look like it though. To me, just from the pictures, it looks like a tooth.

Thanks Bonedigger, I went back and looked around today. It's crazy after I started looking what's right in that area!!! I'm going to do a new post with new pictures. Let me know what you think. And it's heavy like a fossil, but smooth for the most part,,,,,,

On closer inspection I think I figured it out. It's a tooth from the dangerous Sabertooth Mouse. They are believed to have gone extinct about 3000 yrs ago. There have been reported sightings over the last 30 tears. I have contacted "Monster Quest" and I'm waiting on them to call me back. Hope to get an expedition together soon. Stay tuned for more developments on this.
