I got triple snorted last night!

I got out to the woods yesterday afternoon for a hunt. I'm going this weekend as well, I thought it would be cool to hunt before and after cold front. I got to my blind nice and early and saw 5 does and a young but promising 8 pnt. Nothing came within bow range, but I was having a good time watching the deer and just being out there.

Then it started to get dark on me and the deer where still hanging around in the general area. I waited. Threw a couple of rocks and they just looked in the direction of where the rocks hit the ground. I waited untill it was pitch black and I couldnt see if the deer where around or not. As soon as I started to pick my gear up and get ready for the hike back to the truck, thats when it happened. Not 1, not 2, but three snorts. I hate it when that happens.

What do you guys/gals do about this? Just wait? How long? Not worry about it? Is there any tricks to get them to leave before they bust your set-up? I was in a ground blind, I would think it would be worse when you have to climb out of a tree.

I wait until dark and just let them snort all they want. I do try to walk quietly but it hasn't affected my next days hunt. Sometimes if they are under the feeder. Ill pull out my grunt call and do it until they leave. Try to sound natural.

I snort back at their arse..... Let 'em know I've blown their set up too!!! :-)

I wouldn't worry about it too much, ad it was dark and they probably just heard something but didn't see it.

Another guy on our place says he barks like a dog to get them to move away. Never tried it, but he said it works.

I bark and growl... seems to work. When the area is clear, I walk out...

I wait till it's dark and I can't see anymore. If they are still there when I leave, oh well. I've never had a problem with them not coming back the next hunt though.

                      Hey...you...youuu twoooo...

Come to think of it, and nice loud owl call might be spooky enough to work, too, eh?

I give a three cadence alarm snort and they run off without stomping and leaving an alert scent for any other deer.

Give a good couple of doe snorts/wheezes (whatever you wanna call it, but the sound they make when they bust you ) before you get out of the stand if you think they are hanging around and then get out shortly after you have given them time to leave.

I yell cacaaw cacaaw tooky tooky before I jump down screaming. Works fine every time.
I have heard of barking and what not but I have never had a problem with waiting till dark and walking out. They may snort at you but they can't see what is there so they come back by the next hunt with no problems.
