    So I got pulled over..........

On my way to work yesterday I apparently failed to make a complete stop at a stop sign, which immediately got me pulled over. I gave the officer my credentials & he went to the car, you all know the procedure. When he returned, he said "you want the good news or the bad news?" I replied, "just let me have it in the order you feel is best." To my surprise, the fact that he was giving me a citation for running the stop sign was the good news!! This is where it's gets interesting. The officer then proceeds to tell me that I have a warrant out for my arrest from 1996?!?!?!?!?!?!? I said you must be joking, I've never been in trouble in my life!! The officer stated that he was not going to act on the warrant because it didn't make sense to him that since 96 I had been able to obtain a CHL & CDL licenses, & that I had recently renewed both, & that I needed to call and investigate this immediately. I told him I would, as I was in disbelief!! Outside of the above mentioned licenses, I have also had to obtain several security clearances due to my job, as well as being pulled over a few other times, & this has never come up!! I mean were talking about 15 freaking years here?!? Well i call the court this morning first thing, & sure enough they informed me that the warrant is active & has been since April 1996 for an unpaid ticket that I'm quite sure I paid! $134 & its gone. Now, to the point of this!! Kind of scarey to think of all the clearances & licenses I have obtained over the past 15 years without so much as a mention of this warrant! I'm thankful & concerned at the same time. I think I owe the officer a steak for not hooking me up though!

haha i dont know if you owe him a steak, if i was a cop it would be hard for me to take you to jail on a 15 yr old warrant that somehow in the system got re-acctivated lol

My business partner had the same thing happen, for an $87 warrant from 12 years previous. The LEO took him in, lol, on a Friday, of a Holiday weekend. He was ...upset to say the least. We got him out on the last release for the weekend....otherwise he would have been stuck in for the whole holiday.

strange, makes you wonder how much money they have not collected. How many other warrants on the books not collected on

I knew a guy that had a warrant in California and was still able to obtain a secret clearance without it ever being brought up. Crazy!

They nearly hauled my ol man off (we have the same name) for a ticket that I "forgot" about in Jacksboro in '03.
