While walking to the stand we noticed pigs had torn everything up within sight and this was from 3am till the time we got their. It rained about 2 inches last night and everything was muddy so it was obvious the pigs had been enjoying their newly found soft ground. I settled in a little before 4 and withing minutes heard pigs fighting and Im like crap, here they come. A little while passes and I hear a twig snap right behind me "5 Yards" and I turn to see a 200 pound boar staring at me, normally I wouldnt be concerned but Im sitting on the ground
so I holler at him and he runs away thankfully. While sitting their thinking about what just happened another pig runs by within 20 feet and freaks me out yet again so to say Im on guard at this point would be an understatement
It calms down for about an hour and the pig cage fights start up again but by this time their are bucks in the field feeding my way so Im keeping an eye on them only to have a doe walk within 10 yards to my left and yet again another pig runs through running everything off
It gets about prime time and we realize the pigs are going to ruin the evening hunt so we go on the offensive, we round up a flashlight and slip to the other side of the field where all the pigs were and as you could imagine their were pigs everywhere, we guessed 60 or more so we wait till it gets dark and make our move. Its dark and were walking out in the middle of the corn field of big pigs
, we slip within 20 yards of the first group and he comes to full draw and I turn on the light and he nails a big sow and all hell breaks loose, his first reaction was to start kicking pigs and I seen a piglet travel at least 20 yards in the air across the field
"Funniest Thing Ive Ever Seen Hunting" A few piglets run by me so Im kicking and laughing at the same time and thats when we realize all the squeeling by the piglets has drawn reinforcements on their behalf. Im affraid to think how many pigs we had running all over us and I had to step out of the way twice to avoid getting ran over. Funny part is my buddy didnt have a light and when my light flashed by him at one point he was windmilling his bow, I was scared and laughing at the same time. When things calmed down we thought about how dumb that was but at the same time we were planning our next outing to do it again. Im not sure if it was brave or stupid with that many pigs around but it sure was fun!!! Tomorrow night its on again
My only regret is we didnt have it on video, if anyone close by wants to play video man I can promise some good footage and lots of laughs... If your brave enough you can jump on a few while your at it and stab them
