    Moving A Feeder

Have any of you guys ever moved a feeder once season started? I set up a new stand/feeder a few weeks ago, and the deer are coming in from the opposite direction I expected them to, and busting me. The only way I can move the stand, is to move the feeder over about 20 yards. It'd still be really close and similar to the original spot, just moved over a bit.

Yep, I move one every year on my bow set up for a different wind. Most of the deer dont miss a beat but a few it takes several days to get back in their.

Same here - I've moved one a short distance to my benefit before with no trouble.

I have a buddy setting one up today for Momma D to rifle hunt out of opening morning. You will be fine.

When I first moved into the house we are in now, I set one up 3 days before rifle season. I shot 4 deer off it opening morning..........

Me and a buddy were hunting together in a popup on time and we kept getting winded but to move the popup somewhere that we could brush it in good we had to move the feeder as well. Personally I thought it was a bad idea but we moved the stand and feeder after the morning hunt ( prob bout 30 yards) and we hunted that afternoon and had 6 doe come to the feeder and my buddy shot one at 12 yards, the deer didn't seem spoked at all when they came in so I say go for it!

Many times over the last 10 years or so. Sometime they find it in a few days, some have taken longer...... In the end they will find it..... move it if you need to and don't think about it twice.......

Moved one 50 yards one afternoon and hunted it that evening. I could see all the deer showing up at the old location and all of them ran to the new location as soon as it went off.

Move it. Wont be a problem at all. Spray some cover sent on your boots while working and you should be good to hunt in it the same day.
