Shot a huge buck, but need help

since you are still awake, maybe I missed it, but did the arrow shaft have any blood on it?

Very little. The deer feel to the ground as soon as I shot him and broke the arrow off. There was a puddle of blood on the ground about 6x6" big.

hmmm, seems like if it hit the opposite shoulder the shaft would have more blood. but, if there was a decent puddle and drops 20 yds away maybe you stuck something important. did the deer run off or walk away?

also man if it broke off inside of him you have a piece of razor inside of his body its probably going to do damage before it exits out.

if he dumped a pool of blood that big in the time it took you to nock another arrow...he's down somewhere. You will find him brother...it might take a dog but you will find him.

You will find him. If the BH is still in then it's doing damage. He's probably bedded down somewhere close to were you shot him. Take your time in your search. In my experience wounded deer and hogs have a tendancy to circle back around so in stating that after you do your straight line search come back and do a circle search. He will be found. Sounds like a good hit. Best of luck.
