    My heater core is leaking

I don't want to pay $600 to have it fixed . What is the best stop leak to try and stop it?

No stop leak is the best stop leak!! Thats stuff is horrible on your rig man. Call your favorite motorhead and buy him some beer.

      What kind of vehicle?

I have replaced a few under the dash and up against the firewall in the passenger floorboard. They typically aren't that bad to do.

I did one last week in less than 2 hours, not to bad. Just depends on the model of rig.

If it is a diesel make sure to have your water checked for electrolysis. I went through 3 coils before they figured out I had it.

Stop leak is not the answer. You take a chance of blockage to your water jackets. Then your talking overheating issues.

02 F-150 I was told they have to take the dash off to get to it. Most of the price is labor.and I think he said it was tied into the A/C system also?

HVAC - Heater core replacement (howto guide with pictures) - I'd like to thank those that have taken time to write much information about heater core and blend door replacement. I have an '04 F-150 and the same thing happened to me, so we rerouted the hose around it and cut it off. The cheapest quote I've been able to get has been $800. We do most of the work needed on our vehicles, but that just seems like a pain in the a, and possibly something over our heads and patience level. Good luck getting it fixed. If you have some friends willing to help out I'd jump on it.
