    south tex earthquake!!

A 4.6 magnitude earthquake shook South Texas early Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The USGS reports the earthquake occured at 7:24 a.m. about 14 miles northwest of Pawnee, Texas -- or about 50 miles south-southeast of San Antonio.
The earthquake was reported felt by residents in Wilson County, Atascosa County and some parts of Bexar County.

I live between McCoy and Poth in Atascosa County. Was laying in bed with my 5 month old while my wife was cooking breakfast for my 2 year old. The bed started shaking and the doors to my armoire started opening and closing. I thought Casper took up residence, after praying that all spirits be gone, I started getting phone calls from family members to ask if we felt it. Felt what, apparently their was a 4.6 quake about 15-20 miles south of us.. Thank god we dont have ghosts. But now I have large cracks in my house, and my agent says my policy does not cover earthquakes because I live in south texas.. Cr..pp!!!

Yup...heard that and some are wondering if it's related to fracking from the oil\gas scene down there?

My brother was on a oil rig when it happened. Said it felt like he was on a deep sea fishing trip.

They say the epicenter was in Karnes City. I'm glad I missed that one. I'll be heading down early tomorrow morning so hopefully it got it all out and is done shaking.

this is interesting... the depth was only 1.9 miles, which is around 10,000 feet.... which is around the depth for the eagle ford. I don't think it was due to fracking, as much as it could be due to the reduction of formation pressure from the production of wells in the area.
