    Grim reapers and ke ?

All this talk of grim reapers have got me wanting to try em. My question is my bow producing enuff ke to work properly? heres my set up: hoyt turbohawk, 27.5? at 61#,, shooting gt 5575 cut to 26?. guessing my speed is 265-270fps. Shooting 100gr, is it enuff to shoot the reaper 1 3/8??

You wont have any problems with you set up. Just make sure you dont slip and fall in all that blood!

Yep. On most Texas size whitetail you could get away with the 1-3/4 because of the swept back blade angle after its deployed. I wouldnt try the whitetail specials tho. Not sayin it wouldnt work but the 1-3/4 are only 1/4 less but the blade angle is much more swept back and that does help.

Grim Reapers are one of the best expandables on the market, IMO.

One unknow fact about Grim Reapers, If you take great pictures and do a write up and send it to them they may choose you for their website. If they do, you will get something. When I won with my javelina I got a package of broadheads, shirt, and stickers. I think Bloodtrail won too with his Wisconsin buck.

i just posted on the other thread that i tried them last week for the first time. when i returned from my trip, i sent grim reaper some pics. i did question the amount of KE for the 2" Whitetail Special and i was told 65#KE and only 40# something KE to open the standard. i persoanlly think 65#KE is way more that enough for the 2" cut though.

you should be fine with your rig. go get 'em

One of our hunters shot a buck yesterday, with standard grim reaper. 28 inch carbon arrow with 50 lbs. Draw wt. Broadside shoulder shot that passed through bothshoulder blades. Dead in 60 yards with plenty of blood trail. I was impressed.

I shoot 57 lbs 28" draw. shot a coyote the arrow went in the front shoulder all the way through the body and out the back leg. he was quartering towards me. went 10 yrds no problem with penetraction.

I was wondering this same thing too. According to the KE calculator online my arrows have about 66lbs of KE. I like the looks of that white tail special, but I may be giving those 1 3/4 a try instead just to be on the safe side.
