    Reloaders chime in please

Does anyone reload 7mm Rem Mag?

I want to reload some 168 gr Berger VLDs

Anyone have a good load worked up for it? What kind of fps?

Got this info from Berger bullets themselves ! I shoot 58gr imr 4350 powder , I worked up from 55gr
    Hi,
Load data below that you requested load data for.

Load data was generated using Quick Load a 26 inch barrel a COAL (cartridge over all length) of 3.290 inches and your COAL and velocity could be a little different.
AS WITH ALL RELOADING APPROACH THE MAXIMUM LOADS WITH CAUTION AS ALL RIFLES AND RELOADING TECHNIQUES WILL BE DIFFERENT. If YOU CHANGE ANY OF YOUR COMPONENTS; THIS INCLUDES DIFFERENT POWDER LOT NUMBERS; YOU MUST REFIGURE YOUR LOADS BY STARTING WITH THE MINIMUM LOAD.
If we can be of any additional help feel free to contact us.
Thanks for your interest and have a great day.

I have been reloading for 36 years. Still have both eyes, ears, and all my fingers. I have never damaged a firearm. Do yourself a tremendous favor. Spend the money and get several reloading manuals and only use data from an industry source here is just one of many http://www.hodgdon.com/basic-manual-inquiry.html
Never use a load someone gives you unless you can find that load published by a recognized industry source.

That's why I posted what Berger sent me cause their bullets are not in any loading manual , I have nossler hornaday Sierra hogdon and several other manuals so I contacted Berger themselves and that is a copy of the email I received from Walt Berger , I totally agree do not use my load start with the min on any powder you use and work from there !

Trusting the bullet mfr over the powder mfr is my choice because they built the bullet and tested it with the various powders. call me crazy.

            From Walt: "industry source"
Q: Where can I get loading data for Berger Bullets?
A: Our loading manual will be available soon. In the meantime, then you can email your cartridge and bullet data to bergerltd@aol.com or to anyone at Berger Bullets listed on our contacts page. Starting and maximum loads will be emailed back to you.

Morgan, my post was not directed as anegative in your direction as you went to the source. I have had firearms come into my shop for repair becuase an "internet load" did harm.

Thank you both and I could not agree more. I was just wondering someone had worked up a load that worked well for them.

From my experience Bergers max loads are a bit conservative..

I also have not been able to achieve their stated velocities using their exact same loads. Mine come in 2-300fps slower than they have claimed.

So ya'll don't just dip the brass in the powder, brush the excess off the top, and tap the bullet in with a wooden mallet?

Guess I've been doing it wrong.

                  Anyone wanna buy some cartridges?

I reload for my 7MM Mag and I've gotten the most accuracy with IMR 4831 and the Reloader 19 (lighter bullets) & 22 (heavier bullets).

Make sure your gun has the right rate of twist before wasting your money and time dabbling with Berger VLD's.
