Anyone ever get a cowhide tanned?

We have a cowhide, rather large one, that we got priced to tan into a rug and/or pillows.
Something in the back of my mind says that the price we got is a tad high and gave me a red flag. But I honestly don't know what this would cost.
I'd rather not disclose the amount right now, just wanting to check with others on a type of square footage price you got.

Maybe you should call North Texas Tannery and see if their quote would be less.

Friend of mine got one tanned for 200 bucks here in El Paso. It was just tanned though and not made into a rug or pillows. Name of the is Garcia Taxidermy. This was back in 2008.

I'm would also recommend north Texas tannery they do a great job at a good price I'm starting to send all my capes there just more economical than doing them myself
