You'll have to take him to court to get your money. He'll never pay.

call your insurance company. You'll never get anywhere trying to handle it on your own. Unfortunately people (for the most part) lack the integrity to own up to their mistakes and make things right.

Good luck hopefuly you have uninsured motorist covrage. I had this happen and the lady had DL and was a undocuminted person so my insurance covered it.

Let your insurance deal with him....thats what you pay them for.

              Good Luck!

It's pretty common to have uninsured / underinsured coverage, it's usually something that you have to ask to have removed from your policy.

I'd start with a conversation with your insurance agent, he can fill you in on the details.

Check with your insurance agent first thing this morning to see if you have UM/UIM coverage. If so, file with him. That's why you have the coverage- to protect you from irresponsible a-holes like this. If not, it will be a big pain, but go get an estimate on the repairs, then go after the guy. If you have a police report showing he was at fault and had no insurance, take him to small claims court. They'll nail him to the wall.

File on your uninsured motorist. It happened to me several years back.

He doesn't follow the law about insurance, what makes you think he'll follow through and pay up?
