Quick question for you Jerry. I gather from your post that you typically use 2 dogs at a time? Just wondering if you had any suggestions on training using 2 at a time?

I got a lacy last spring who found 8 deer for her previous owner. I also have a young Catahoula with no experience. I have done a few blood trails for both and the Catahoula seems to be picking up what she is supposed to do. The lacy works the trails pretty slow and methodical. (The mock trails were very short and easy, just one right turn. I mainly wanted to get the Catahoula trained to smell for blood when I put the bell on her.) My plan was to shoot something (hopefully soon) and take them both out and see what happens. I have an GPS system with 2 collars. I presume the more inexperienced dog will learn from the other dog?

kdog, yes run the less experienced dog with the more experienced. They learn every time you put them on the ground, there may be times that he may not show much intrest but they are always learning, just associating the start of a track with the ending makes stuff start clicking in their brain...just positive reinforcement and exposure..
