    question???

    I reckon I'm dumb...
    In the TP&W book for Freestone County it says
    "Bag limits, provision for the take of antlerless deer, and special requirements of the county, shall be as specified for the first 2 days of the general open season."

    Can someone dumb that down for me!!!

        Copied from TPWD website;

        Archery Only: Oct. 1-Nov. 4, 2011. No permit required to hunt antlerless deer unless MLD permits have been issued for the property.

        Bag Limit: 4 deer, no more than 2 bucks, and no more than 2 antlerless, all seasons combined.

        General Season: Nov. 5, 2011-Jan. 1, 2012. Antlerless deer may be taken by antlerless MLD permit or LAMPS permit only.

        Special Youth-Only Season: Early open season: Oct. 29-30, 2011. Late open season: Jan. 2-15, 2012.

        Bag limits, provision for the take of antlerless deer, and special requirements of the county, shall be as specified for the first 2 days of the general open season.

        Licensed hunters 16 years of age or younger may hunt deer by any lawful means during this season.

        So it is stating that for the "youth seasons", they are allowed to take the legal bag limit as the first two days of the "general season". So in this county they are allowed to take 2 bucks (one antler restriction buck and a spike). They may take a doe if they have a MLD or LAMPS permit. The wording you have in question does not pertain to any other season except the "Special Youth Seasons".

        Hope that helps.

          Yup, that's referring to the youth seasons.

          So you're allowed 4 deer. No more than 2 bucks and no more than 2 does during the ARCHERY ONLY season.

          Good luck!!

            Sounds like you are looking at a Muzzleloader season or a youth season, which means, whatever the General Gun Season bag limits for the first 2 days of the season, you can take the same in those other seasons.
