Maine is a once-in-a-lifetime hunt for moose. IF and that is a BIG IF, you ever get a tag, you won`t be able to get another tag. But the good news is if you get a tag, you will more than likely get your moose.
I have hunters that come down every year from Connecticut, one them has been trying for years to get a moose tag in Maine. I think he told me last year that Maine had gone to a lottery type deal where you can but however many chances you want at $10 each for a moose tag, but you don`t get your money back even if you don`t draw. They will be down next weekend and I can find out more for you then.
The lower 48 states will be tough to get a moose tag and if you do it will expensive. Colorado is $1844 for non-residents and it takes several preference points to draw.
Montana may be easier to get than Colorado, I`m not sure, but it cost about the same or more for the tag.
Alberta is the best place I can think of for bear and moose. I hunted there in 2008 and saw bear, moose, elk, W/T and muledeer all in one week.
The outfitter I hunted with charges about $4000 for a moose and bear combo.
