    Transfer case Fluid

    Good day friends,

My GMC Envoy is due to have the transfer case fluid changed and it is recommended GM Auto Trak II. I cannot seem to find any auto parts store that carries it locally. Do I really need to use this fluid or something else?

    Thanks,

Did you try googling to order online?

Yep and I found it on line, but was hoping to pick it up locally.

So that is the only fluid I can use in my transfer case?

I bet good transmision fluid would work fine, but transfer cases cost a fortune.

                Try here.

They should be able to fix you up.

Okay I will go to the dealership then and by the GM stuff. I do not want my transfer case to get ruined. Thanks.

I plan on doing the front and rear diff and transmission as well.

Call O'Reilly's and see if they can order you some. The one here in Allen has done this for me before. If they can, it usually will be there in a couple of hours or next day at worst. Good luck Timm.

                      Thanks Randy.

Curious to find out if I can use a different type of transfer case fluid. Surely all the big Chevy 4x4 users on here would know the answer.

Im not recomending this to you but I have ran Trans fluid in every T-Case Ive ever owned with exception of an under drive unit I had hooked to a T-Case and never had a problem. Its just my little thing Im stuck on. In your situation i would have a local parts store order you some and roll on.

if you never put the vehicle in 4WD would you need to change the fluid?? Seems like it would be dang near good as new!!

You dont have to use the dealership stuff. ATF is ATF. I would personally look at switching to a top knotch FULL Senthetic. I personally run amsoil in everything in my truck. The dealership just wants you to use there stuff.

                              HI Glenn!

I am looking for Transfer case fluid. It was highly recommended I do not put ATF fluid in my transfer case.
