    Savage Axis Rifles

Anybody have one of these or have any experience with them? I have a really nice .270 in the case that is to nice to be taking into the woods for me and am thinking about selling it and getting one of these Savage Axis rifles. I sight my rifle in before the season and then use it 1-2 times per year for deer hunting purposes so I am not looking at a proffesionally precisioned rifle for long range shooting or anything like that.

Good guns for the money. Had one and they are pretty smooth IMHO.

That is what I would really look at if I were in the market.

I just bought one a few weeks ago. I got the .243 I havent shot it or even put a scope on it yet. It was sitting on the rack with a clearance tag on it and I don't have a .243 I figured I could use one for a youth hunt

I bought from walmart in 223 for a knock around gun for $270. Put a cheap bushnell on it, a little attention to the trigger and groups about an inch at 100yd with Wolf ammo 5 shots. Pretty smooth haven't shot it with match ammo yet but definetly a good little gun.

I bought the 25.06 version from Rednek Booda Outdoors-site sponsor, great shooting gun!
