I don't know about any of you but my first couple of weeks of bow season has been a bust. I either don't see a thing or the bucks that have a free pass...or lastly get snake bit by the weather. I have been trying to get my wife her first deer with a bow so far and wanted to start her off with a doe or two before moving her up at the ranch. So as you would figure I see all the bucks and she can't get a doe in range. Earlier this year I had a new 1,000lb feeder I built get pushed over by a "hog" but i have my thoughts that it was lease member. I just find it hard to believe a hog can push over a feeder weighing 150-175lbs plus the 1,000 lbs of feed in it, and then my game camera ends up pointing down all of the sudden. Anyhow...anyone else having a rough start or am I absorbing all the bad mojo so far?

We are having a rough start due to the drought....The deers' bodies look like crap, the antlers are way down and the cameras are not giving us much hope right now. The only positives are most every doe has a fawn and the more we crank up the feeders, the more new deer we have coming in so we're hoping we can draw in our list cull deer that may have sought food sources elsewhere. I don';t see any trophies being killed this season.

Its been slow for us in Jasper Co. In 2 wknds we have seen maybe 5 deer between 6 hunters. It is a new lease for me so I am still trying to figure it out. I have had a feeder up for a month and half and still do not have 1 pic of a deer. I did see 2 bucks last friday crossing the clear cut but that is it for me. Other ppl are getting pretty good cam pics but everything is at night still.

I didnt have time to range her as I had to make a quick shot leaning over him out his window. And my bow hit him while filming and she was at 30 and I thought and had my pin at 25. Shot right under her and left at 7:30 am because heavy 5 hours of rain started comign.
