converting mts to mp4

I love the quality of mts but I recently bought an apple and the movie editor is super simple. Problem is it takes mp4 not mts.

so i downloaded one of those trial versions of a converter but the quality absolutely sucked. I'm assuming it's better on the purchased version but wanted to see if anyone on here converts mts to mp4 and maintains the great quality of video.

Not sure what the settings were for the conversion but I suspect that's your problem with losing quality on the conversion.

What type of camera are you using that is shooting the files to .mts format?

I use a Sony digital recorder that shoots to .m2t format.
I bought a program that allows rewrapping the file to many other formats without loss of quality. It's called ClipWrap. It cost $49 but it works like a charm on my Mac. (I convert to QT, not .mp4)
