need tractor mechanic help
Let me say right off the bat that I am not the most mechanically inclined, but not unable to do a little. I have Ford 1700 tractor that is stuck in fourth gear. The shifter for the transmission is shifting fine , but the shifter that shifts from first to fourth is stuck in fourth gear. I was using it earlier to day and everything was shifting fine. I went out a little earlier to do a little work and shifted it into fourth gear and I can't get it out. It is solid stuck and won't even wiggle. Anybody got any ideas on what I can do. I'll check back later but right now I am going hunting. Looks like it is going to rain so I thought I would go hunt and maybe help it along.
