    Nikon spot on turret kits

I am very curious to know if anyone has any experience with these turrets. I have the buckmaster 4.5-14x40 w/ the nikoplex reticle on my .338 win mag. Now, my plan had been to switch to the mildot reticle for those long distances. Just looking to hear ya'lls experiences with them. I would love to just be able to dial to my corresponding number for distance.

This would only work consistently if custom done for YOUR gun and ONE specific cartridge. Every rifle shoots every cartridge a little different. For example, as a new sniper years ago our department ordered two rifles for two new snipers. Same gun, same caliber, same scope. The rifles, while similar in ballistics, shot different. Buddies rifle needed 36 MOA added for 1,000 yards with Federal Match 168 gr. Mine needed 40. We experimented with different brands and types of ammo and found that even though both of these guns were 1/2 moa with Federal Match- some other rounds would shoot 1/4 moa in one gun and 1+ in the other.

Personally I'd go with mildot. Find the round you want to shoot. Determine your comeups with each distance on a range (not a published graph/calculator), and tape it to your stock.
