    Lighting for new barn/shop

I'm the happy owner of a new shop (not a bow shop, a shop building). Anyway, I need advice from shop owners, builders, or electricians on what lighting I should choose. The dimensions are 24' W X 35' L with a 24' X 24' carport in the front, and a 6' wide covered patio that runs all the way down the side. The ceilings are 10' high. I would obviously like it to be well lit for late night projects and BBQs, etc. with lighting inside the shop, outside under the carport, and under the patio. Thanks for any info, Jason.

I just built a 30 X 50 at my place and used 4ft fluorescent t8's inside and out.
they light the place up really well. No noticeable flicker or strobe effect on any blades. Id do the same again. I do wish I would have put a light up on the peak to light the yard up a bit when I get in late.

I have a 30x30 shop with 2 8' fixtures on each side with a 30x30 carport with a night light on a photocell and 2 8' fixtures on each side which is more than enough light. I have 100 amp service on my shop

T8's or T5's but I would go with four foot fixtures so bulbs are easier to haul and find.

Check the Lithonia I-Beams. I have them in my shop and they are crazy bright. They are a six bulb T5 fixture.

150 amp service and several 8' fluorescents. Put 4 lights per breaker and switch

                              Shank 'em!
