    Rangefinder Question

I just got my first rangefinder and its a Bushnell Arc 1000, my question is how accurate are these arc models on the number is gives you to shoot? I would go find out myself but I dont really have time today. I see it gives you an eyesight number and then a ARC number or a number to shoot, will this be an accurate number to use?

I have the Bushnell Chuck Adams edition with ARC and it has been very accurate.

It should not be too hard to test the true angle. I think it a(squared) + b(Squared) = c(squared). So you could do the math and check it out. Make sure you use all the same distances (feet vs yard). I do not have any practical experience with them however.

I have only seen it really makes a difference when im over 15 ft in the air anything lower seems to read the same.

I agree I have a nikon It is accurate. Most of the time the angle will only change it less than 2 yards.

Im shooting down from at least 35' up and I cant judge the distance from their thus the range finder purchase. I just wanted to know if the shoot number was accurate and it sounds like it should be pretty darn close...

I tested mine in one of our 35' tower stands. Measured from the base of the stand to the feeder, climbed up, measured again with ARC. It was the same. Measured in the stand without the ARC and it was longer. Mine is a Nikon archer's choice. I'm a believer in the ARC. Some say it's just a pointless selling feature, but the steeper or longer the distance, the bigger difference it makes. 5 yards difference with my bow can definitely be the difference between a kill and a bad shot. 2 yards can make the difference between a clean kill and a tough trailing job.
