A knife is so much more than a tool. As hunters, we are remain unloyal to the gear we use. We use what's available untill something better becomes avalible.
Knives are different. We carry knives on a daily basis. They do work. We put them to use. We pass them on. We develop a fondness for them, especially the the well worn knife you have had for years.
I never had a special knife that was handed down to me. I had no attachment to any blade I owned.
When I decided I wanted a knife that would last a lifetime, be functional as well as beautiful, I knew I had to go custom.
This is what I came up with.
Mammoth ivory handles. Very pretty and exotic material, yet it is very tough. When wet with blood, the handle actually become tacky.
A thumb open folding design. I wanted a folder because I want THR knife to always be on me, quickly accessible without looking odd in public.
The lanyard is very functional. You can bite down on the lanyard in your mouth, leaving hands avalible to do work while not misplacing the blade.
The damacus blade is more than just good looks. It is a special Damascus, constructed with d2 steel, it may be a pain to sharpen, but it stays sharp.
This knife was made by a Charles Miller in Saldo.
If you got some custom steel, let's see em!
