Making a Ground Blind w/3D Ground Blind Fabric!!

Just bought some 3D ground blind fabric to make a ground blind and wanted ideas from you guys/gals as to how to make one. Was thinking about using PVC pipes.

Will be hunting in Public land so need something that can set-up/take down quickly.

If you have one please attach photos of them to get a better idea.

    Thanks for your time..

Question - where did you get the fabric and what does it look like? Thanks.

Bought it yesterday at wal mart.. It says 12X56 mossy oak break up infinity. And has cut outs of small leafes that move with the wind. Cost was 14 bucks

That stuff wont last long, will fade quickly, and will rip easily. You could replace it every year, but I would look for a little nicer fabric. Maybe a army surplus store.

        Good luck

I put that stuff around the top of my tripod and it didn't last but a couple of months.

Look in the DIY forum for cattle panel blinds. Go to Home Depot and buy a big canvas tarp. Tie wrap the tarp to the panels and spray paint. Cheap, easy and will last longer than that netting junk from Wal-Mart.

Well thanks for the input, I have never tried this fabric but I guess from your experiences it sucks.. Still haven't opened it And will return to store promptly.

That stuff won't last . It tears easily and decomposes in the sun just slightly slower than toilet paper in water. But, I think it works great for what you're doing with it. I go through a package of the leafy material just about every season. I carry it and the small zip ties. Very easy to tie that stuff up in an opening in the brush. Get back in behind it and you're set. Clothes pins seem the logical choice, but I could never get them to hold well enough. Zip ties or 6" pieces of tie wire work great. I also like to cut it in half. That 144 inches is just too hard to work with. 6 feet should cover you up very well utilizing existing brush. Just don't expect to set it up, and it still be in one piece two months later. But, just setting it up and using it one or two days on public land before taking it down and putting it back in your pack will work great. Good luck.

I have a ground blind that I built from cattle panels, covered outside with burlap and something similar to what u have but I got it at academy. It is under trees, heck if it don't last but one season, I will replace it. For a portable blind it, lights serve the purpose.

I say, for quick and easy, get a pop up.
                            You won't regret it! I haven't yet

Are you hunting over at Amistad? If so I took a pop up blind over there but could never seem to find a good spot for one. I ended up buying a little fishing chair at WalMart and would just find a good spot in the brush to sit. Cut out a few holes to shoot from and you are good to go. Take my advice for what it is worth though, because I sure as heck never killed anything out there .

The one I used was a called a "lightning Blind" or something like that. I would probably sell it to you cheap but it is at my deer lease and I won't be back up there for about 3 weeks. I am not sure if this is the same blind or not but I did a search online and came up with this.

I really would prefer an Ameristep to this type but they do cost quite a bit more.
